Collaborative Zine

Project

The prompt for this project is the idea of translation. Based on the references and texts supplied, and guided by class exercises, I was asked to translate an idea inspired by the references using a visual language of my creation that is idiosyncratic to me as a visual maker, and create a two-page spread to be combined with the work of my peers in a single publication printed as an edition of 30.

For this project, I wanted to re-purpose acetate used in a previous screenprinting project and experiment with how the shapes on the acetate would layer on the risograph scanner. I used this method to create my spread of the collaborative zine, and in addition I used this method to create both covers of the publications.

My work is featured on both the front and back covers of both publications, in addition to the center spread of the green risograph zine.
